Boral has put forward a proposal to extend Montrose Quarry which would see the continued supply of critical construction materials to support
Victorian infrastructure and the state’s growing population.

Boral achieves an Australian first by trialling concrete made with recycled aggregates and recarbonated using CO₂ captured from a cement plant—advancing low-carbon construction innovation.

Boral has received approval from Sydney Water on its flagship blended high grade compaction sand for use as an approved non-standard product. The innovative product was designed specifically to meet Sydney Water's stringent material specifications, providing an environmentally sustainable and easily compacted alternative for pipe laying applications. 

Boral welcomed the official opening of the Western Harbour Tunnel precasting facility at Emu Plains this week by NSW Premier, the Hon. Chris Minns MP and NSW Minister for Roads and Regional Transport, the Hon. Jenny Aitchison MP.

A routine day at Boral's Stockton Quarry recently turned into something extraordinary when storms and strong winds uncovered Aboriginal cultural sites within the buffer zone between our operational pit and the neighbouring Worimi Conservation Lands.

Today Boral announced the completed acquisition of Wallan Concrete plant, about 45km North of Melbourne. The strategic acquisition of the recently built concrete plant provides Boral with additional ability to service customers in an identified growth corridor as part of Boral’s integrated operations. It also sees the continued employment of skilled workers as they transfer to Boral.

Boral has put forward a proposal to tackle two challenging Gold Coast City-building issues - a looming shortage of construction materials for Gold Coast roads, buildings and infrastructure projects, and landfill constraints. 

Boral has successfully secured $24.5 million in Federal Government funding for a new cement kiln infrastructure project, which will enable the leading construction materials company to significantly reduce its CO2 emissions arising from cement manufacturing by up to 100,000 tonnes per annum, based on predicted production rates.

Boral’s partnership with Sunshine Coast Council has delivered Australia’s first crumbed rubber asphalt using OTR tyres—offering councils a proven, sustainable solution to extend road life and reduce landfill.
