Concrete is the most versatile of modern building materials. And with customer requirements and specifications rapidly evolving, we’re rising to the challenge of developing and delivering the new forms of concrete needed.

We also work closely with customers to solve challenges around delivery to inaccessible locations and tight time schedules.

Boral concrete is used everywhere from residential driveways and house foundations and walls to multi-storey residential and commercial developments and major infrastructure projects. You’ll see it in mosques and churches, in bridges and overpasses, and in schools and hospitals.

Our concrete operations are powered by more than 200 operational sites and batching plants across Australia. These are positioned close to customer application and development sites in both rural and urban areas to maximise processing efficiencies.

We are constantly developing our concrete offering to bring new aesthetic and performance options to customers and to meet increasing sustainability requirements.

Boral’s low carbon concrete has received GreenTag HealthRate certification, with a platinum rating. Produced by swapping out part of the Portland cement compound in the mix with lower-carbon alternatives like fly ash and ground granulated blast furnace slag, such concretes can reduce embodied carbon by as much as 50 per cent.

Boral’s low carbon concrete products are being used across the country - in homes to major infrastructure and commercial projects - for their environmental, aesthetic and engineering properties.

For example, our ENVISIA® low carbon concrete was pumped over 1 kilometre underground to provide a more durable track slab for the Sydney Metro project. The concrete contained recycled materials to significantly reduce the amount of higher energy-intensive cementitious materials required.

Boral's advanced concrete range is made for high strength, high durability and specialty applications, from high-rise buildings to corrosive marine environments. Our advanced range include precast and post tensioned solutions, and our award-winning ASPIRE® concrete for the most demanding structural applications.

Boral's advanced concrete solutions come with EVOLVE™ thermal modelling, a 3D simulation finite element model that aims to predict temperature development and differences, to facilitate a better understanding of the risk of thermal cracking of concrete.

Boral’s downstream Concrete operations deliver sophisticated solutions for customers through its extensive network.

We produce concrete with coarse aggregates and finer materials from our quarries at our batching plants. We have more than 200 operational sites and batching plants across Australia, positioned close to customer application and development sites to maximise downstream processing efficiencies.

Boral is committed to developing products that minimise the environmental impacts on the community. We develop concrete mixes that help customers meet their sustainability goals, providing key technical advice.

Our Concrete Placing

Boral’s downstream Concrete Placing operations have close proximity to customers providing an integrated value-add solution.

We provide sophisticated concrete placing solutions to our customers through our network of three key operational sites. Our integration with the Concrete business provides improved access to customer projects and development sites. We have continued to build on our extensive track record of concrete placing to support major infrastructure projects.

Through De Martin and Gasparini (DMG), which operates in NSW and Queensland, Boral has a strong supply chain - from mining our own limestone, sand and aggregates, through to cement production, concrete batching plants and ultimately - delivery and placing.

DMG continues its tradition of supplying and placing for iconic and landmark infrastructure projects, including Sydney Metro stations and the passenger terminal at the Western Sydney International Airport. In Queensland, DMG has a large fleet of mobile, stationary concrete pumps and placing booms. They specialise in high-rise residential and commercial buildings, shopping centres, hospitals and large infrastructure projects.
