Boral’s Orange Grove Quarry in Perth has achieved an incredible safety milestone — 10 years lost time injury free. This achievement reflects the team’s unwavering commitment to safety and our STAAR values, ensuring everyone works safe to go home safe.
About Orange Grove Quarry
Located in Perth’s metro area, Orange Grove Quarry is Boral’s main hard rock quarry in Western Australia. With a footprint of around 55 hectares, the site produces approximately one million tonnes of crushed rock every year. This material is essential for Boral’s Concrete and Asphalt operations and is also supplied to external customers for major infrastructure and construction projects.
Celebrating the Team
The milestone was marked with a BBQ and merchandise gifts for the team of around 20 employees. Quarry Manager Keith Swift said:
“Working 12-hour days, our STAAR values, with safety as a priority, are incredibly important to us. It’s great to take time to thank the team, celebrate this achievement and set the next goal.”
WA Concrete and Quarries General Manager added:
“It’s important to celebrate when we achieve these milestones — not because we’re at the finish line, but to recognise the people driving the outcome and remember why it’s critical to keep working safe to go home safe.”
Plant Operators Mladen Pavic and Steve Sandiford also reflected on the achievement, with Steve noting:
“We have a good safety outlook here at Orange Grove, and we all work together and look after each other.”
Looking Ahead
This milestone is a testament to the team’s dedication and Boral’s commitment to safety as a core value. Congratulations to everyone at Orange Grove Quarry for setting the standard — and here’s to the next decade of safe operations.
