Boral’s Bacchus Marsh Quarry is located approximately 6km north of the Bacchus Marsh township, 10km north-west of Melton and 50km north-west of Melbourne.
Operating since the early 1970s, the quarry is the primary source of fine aggregates for concrete, masonry and packing sand for Boral’s business in the Melbourne region.
The quarry began operating in the early 1970s by Western Washed Sands and Stone Pty. Ltd. Boral purchased the 195-hectare site in 1987.
A few years ago, the site carried out a $5 million wash plant refurbishment to enable Boral to increase its capacity to support its existing and future customer base.
The plant employs 44 permanent staff members, with a diverse workforce ranging in age from 18 to 64 and years of service from 6 months to 42 years!
The quarry has 15 truck drivers and a further ten contractors, the majority live locally enabling Boral’s Bacchus Marsh to contribute to regional employment while making an outstanding contribution to Victoria’s sustained infrastructure boom.
We are continuously improving processes at our site.
Our teams will continue to engage with our local communities to understand how our operations impact you. If you have any feedback please email community@boral.com.au.
