Great teams are built on experience, dedication and a passion for doing things right. Few stories illustrate this better than the combined 75 years of service from two outstanding team members at our Berrima Cement Works – Geoff Smith and Darren Tickner.

Geoff Smith joined Boral 35 years ago, back when mobile phones were the size of bricks and cement operations looked very different to today. As part of our Production team, Geoff’s problem-solving skills and steady hand have been instrumental in keeping operations running smoothly through decades of change and innovation.

Darren Tickner began his career with Boral 40 years ago, in an era of cassette tapes and when Boral still had a tyre and elevator division. Today, as a Mechanical Specialist, Darren’s technical expertise and willingness to lend a hand have made him a trusted teammate and mentor to many.

Their commitment and knowledge have helped shape Berrima Cement Works into the efficient, modern facility it is today. We’re proud to celebrate this incredible milestone and thank Geoff and Darren for their outstanding contribution to Boral.
