At Boral, building something great starts with great people — and in South Australia, four team members have reached an incredible milestone: a combined 100 years of service.

Meet Rudi Oors, Pat Crowder, Grant ‘Buzz’ Hutchins, and Andrew King — each playing a big part in shaping Boral’s success across the state.

Rudi Oors – 40 Years of Service

Rudi began at Stonyfell Quarry in 1985, sweeping floors and cleaning engine parts. Over the years, he’s worked on everything from Terex dump trucks to 50-tonne Komatsu machines and mobile plant systems. Today, Rudi is a Plant Operator at Linwood Quarry, continuing to bring experience and reliability to the team.

Pat Crowder – 20 Years of Service

Pat started in Perth before moving to Adelaide and stepping into a leading hand role at Para Hills. Known for his steady presence through industry booms and downturns, Pat now works as a Plant Operator at Para Hills Quarry.

Grant ‘Buzz’ Hutchins – 20 Years of Service

After working in Antarctica and as a diesel mechanic, Buzz joined Boral and became a go-to trainer across SA, lifting standards in safety and skills. Today, he’s a Plant Operator at Stonyfell Quarry, continuing to share his knowledge and passion for safety.

Andrew King – 20 Years of Service

Andrew leads technical work across SA, from glass blends to industry committees — all while making time to cheer on his daughters at soccer and AFL. He now serves as Senior Technical Specialist at the Stonyfell Laboratory, driving innovation and quality in our products.
