Recently, we had the pleasure of welcoming special guests from the Whyalla City Council to our quarry and concrete facilities. This visit was not only an opportunity to showcase our operations but also to celebrate a significant milestone for one of our dedicated team members.
Deputy Mayor Peter Borda, Anthony Bray (Airport Runway Upgrade Project/Assets and Planning Manager), Craig Inglis (Civil/Maintenance Coordinator), and Tom Spirat (Manager Depot and Roadworks) joined us for the day. It was a fantastic chance to highlight Boral’s contributions to local infrastructure and strengthen our collaboration with the council.
The day began with a warm welcome and a thorough safety briefing. Guests then enjoyed a casual lunch where we recognised Phil Mitchell, our Quarry Manager, for his five years of dedicated service. Phil’s leadership and commitment have been instrumental in the growth and success of our operations in the region.
After lunch, we took our guests on a guided tour of Whyalla Quarry and concrete plant. They gained valuable insights into the scale and sophistication of our operations and the crucial role our products play in the region’s development.
A big thank you to Phil Mitchell, Kym Murdock (Quarry Supervisor), Rick Brynhildsen (Concrete Plant Supervisor), Zoe Crocker, and Natasha for organising and delivering a professional and engaging experience. Your efforts made the day a great success.
We also extend our appreciation to the Whyalla City Council for taking the time to visit and connect with our team. Building strong partnerships with local government helps us deliver better outcomes for the communities we serve.
