Boral recently participated in the South Australian Ministerial Roundtable on concrete supply, convened by the Hon Nick Champion MP and the Hon Emily Bourke MLC, and organised by Cement Concrete & Aggregates Australia (CCAA).

The meeting brought together key industry leaders to address growing concerns around concrete availability, which has been highlighted by the Housing Industry Association and recent media coverage.

With major projects such as Torrens to Darlington and the new Women’s and Children’s Hospital driving significant demand, the roundtable provided an important forum to share data, outline supply challenges, and discuss strategies for coordinated planning and improved visibility across residential and infrastructure pipelines.

Kevin Whelan, Boral’s General Manager Concrete and Quarry SA, represented Boral at the event and emphasised the company’s commitment to collaboration:

“The Ministerial Roundtable was a great opportunity to discuss key challenges and opportunities for our industry, particularly around sustainability and infrastructure development. Boral is proud to contribute to these conversations and work collaboratively with government and industry partners to drive positive outcomes for South Australia.”

CCAA, represented by State Director Jason Kuchel, led the discussion on industry insights and the importance of timely approvals and coordinated planning to support South Australia’s housing needs and critical infrastructure delivery.

Boral looks forward to continuing its engagement with government and industry stakeholders to support housing needs and deliver critical infrastructure for the state.
