At Boral, we know that strong teams achieve great outcomes. For Nathan Hall, Business Development Manager at our Salisbury Recycling operations, that principle applies both on the job and on the footy field.
Recently, Nathan had the honour of conducting the coin toss at the Adelaide Oval ahead of the Adelaide Crows’ Round 17 clash against Melbourne — a recognition of his decades-long contribution to grassroots Aussie Rules through the Houghton Districts Football Club.
Nathan has been involved in football since childhood, holding roles as player, captain, coach and volunteer. Today, he serves as coaching coordinator and Senior Coach for Houghton’s B Grade and under-15 teams, while his family plays an active role in the club’s growth.
Building teams that thrive
Nathan sees clear parallels between coaching on the field and leading at work:
“Working effectively as a team is critical — you can achieve amazing outcomes by having people understand their role and by playing to your strengths together. Trust, communication and collaboration are vital to success in any team — sporting or in business.”
For Nathan, leadership is about unlocking potential and creating environments where people can shine. These values align perfectly with Boral’s approach to building strong, collaborative teams that deliver for customers and communities.
Driving sustainability through recycling
At Salisbury Recycling, Nathan and his team play a vital role in Boral’s circular economy strategy—recovering and repurposing construction and demolition materials to reduce waste and support sustainable building practices.
By combining operational excellence with a values-driven mindset, Nathan helps ensure Boral Recycling continues to provide innovative solutions that meet customer needs while protecting the environment.
A family and community legacy
Under Nathan’s watch, Houghton has grown from two senior sides to a thriving club with A, B and C Grade teams, a senior women’s side and seven junior teams. His passion for developing talent and building community mirrors his commitment to helping Boral Recycling deliver sustainable solutions for customers.
Nathan’s recognition by the Adelaide Crows highlights the impact of grassroots leadership and community involvement. At Boral, we’re proud to celebrate team members like Nathan who bring leadership, dedication and a values-driven mindset to everything they do — on and off the field.
