From April 2021, an ISO 14025 and EN 15804 compliant EPD for Boral’s ready-mix (ACT / NSW), conventional concrete which also features the low carbon ENVISIA® concrete, will be registered under the Australasian EPD Programme. The EPD can be used to assist projects with Level 1 (and above) for the Mat-2 (v1.2) and Rso-7 (v2.0) credits.
For this EPD, Boral has chosen a range of premix concrete products including its new Lower Carbon Concrete range - Envirocrete®, Envirocrete® Plus and ENVISIA®. This has been complemented by it more conventional mixes such as triple blend and road authority compliant mixes which are also captured in the EPD.
The selection of products used in this EPD suit all typical concrete applications varying from high durability in marine and sulphate resistant exposure conditions through to low-risk civil applications.
It is particularly suited to low shrinkage and high early strength applications, where a low carbon footprint is also required.
