New Cost and Time Effective Durable Decking - 600 Series
Boral Timber has introduced a more robust and easier to install decking to its hardwood range. The new 600 SERIES 22mm decking is available in the popular Australian species Spotted Gum. This premium decking is thicker and wider than our other boards for a durable deck that will last for years to come.
“For home owners looking to build a deck in time for summer, the 600 SERIES provides a cost and time effective solution,” says Boral’s Justin Scobie. “Its thick 22mm profile means less joists are required during installation while the 600mm width minimises material costs and makes the deck quicker and easier to lay.”
The 600 SERIES decking can be used in a variety of applications, including vertical design elements such as screens, seating, gates and fences. What’s more, the unique tonal range of the Spotted Gum species showcases the beauty of timber and suits almost any style of home. Spotted Gum also has a natural fire resistance, increasing its suitability for use in bushfire prone areas.
Graded to AS 2796.2 Standard & Better, Boral’s 600 SERIES is a sustainable timber decking choice. It is Responsible Wood Chain of Custody certified, providing peace of mind that the timber is sourced from sustainably managed and legal forestry. As a building material, timber is a good choice because it is a natural and renewable resource.
Boral decking is seasoned to ensure it is at its optimum hardness, stability and length of service life. The 600 SERIES decking can be ordered pre-oiled on all four sides with a prime coat of Intergrain Natures Timber Oil, ready for top coating.
