Boral Timber Adds Premium Composite Decking Product - Trex Transcend
Boral Timber has added Trex Transcend®, a premium composite decking product, to its mix of hardwood solutions to ensure greater variety for customers. In addition to its stunning good looks with an authentic wood-grain pattern, Trex Transcend® is extremely environmentally friendly, made from 95 per cent recycled plastic and wood. As a result, Trex Transcend® is currently keeping some 272,000 tonnes of plastic and wood scrap out of land fill every year.1
This innovative, high-performing decking product is extremely resistant to fading, mould, scratching and staining thanks to its unyielding three-side, shell protection. It is also very low maintenance, requiring no sanding, no staining and no painting; essentially no fuss. Just some simple soap and water can be used to clean the boards and it comes with a 25-year limited residential fade and stain warranty.
Boral is offering Trex Transcend® to the Australian market in five beautiful, nature-inspired shades: Island Mist, Spiced Rum, Lava Rock, Havana Gold and Tiki Torch. While it is a manufactured product designed to have a timber-like look, the grain and tone still varies from board to board, just like natural wood, with a deep, rich, long-lasting colour that exudes luxury.
“When Boral decided to enter the composite decking market, we wanted to find a brand that aligned with our own premium, high-end products and Trex ticked all those boxes,” says Boral’s Paul Rowbotham. “We are very excited to be able to offer our customers a complete decking solution now; both our traditional hardwood products and what we perceive to be the number one composite decking product in the world.”
Board width can vary depending on customer requirements but the standard dimensions are 139mm wide x 25mm deep x 5.4m long.
