Plasterboard Specifications
Under normal ambient temperatures, the “R” values for various thicknesses of plasterboard
are as follows:
| 10mm: | 0.060 m2K/W |
| 13mm: | 0.079 m2K/W |
| 16mm: | 0.098 m2K/W |
For foil backed plasterboard with foil facing an empty wall cavity add the following values
to the above ratings:
| 20mm min. cavity: | 0.58 m2K/W |
| >20mm cavity | 0.61 m2K/W |
Dimensional Stability
Under normal temperature and humidity conditions, plasterboard dimensional properties
are as follows:
- Thermal Coefficients
of Linear Expansion = 16.2x10-6mm/(mm°C) –at temperature
range 4°C to 38°C
- Hygrometric
Coefficient of Expasnsion = 7.2x10-6mm/mm/%RH – at 5% to 90% RH
