Colour Selection
When choosing a colour you should consider what will complement your area, home and surroundings.
Companion colours are any two to three colours which are side by side on a colour wheel, as shown. Usually one of the predominates.
By choosing companion colours you can create a pleasing harmony in your design. People will like what they see without necessarily knowing why.
Complementary colours are any two colours which are directly opposite each other on the colour wheel as shown.
By choosing complementary colours you can introduce visual interest and diversity into your design whilst also achieving colour harmony. Again the result will be balanced and attractive.
