In December, Boral’s Noosa Concrete Plant received a new CAT 938 loader, strengthening the site’s material‑handling capability and supporting efficient and reliable concrete production across the Sunshine Coast.

A versatile and efficient machine for daily operations

The CAT 938 is part of Caterpillar’s range of small wheel loaders, designed to deliver high productivity, fuel efficiency and operator comfort. It features a powerful C7.1 engine, modern hydrostatic power train and advanced traction management, helping reduce wheel slip and operating costs. The loader also offers precise control, parallel lift capability and high tilt forces, making it ideal for managing bulk materials safely and efficiently.

These characteristics make the CAT 938 a highly suitable machine for concrete plant environments, where operators must continually load aggregates such as sand, stone and recycled materials into hoppers to maintain consistent production flow. Its performance series buckets and Z‑bar linkage design allow the Noosa team to move materials quickly, maintain steady feed rates and support reliable batching throughout the day.

Supporting the Noosa team and building efficiency

The arrival of the CAT 938 will help the Noosa crew manage peak periods with greater ease, thanks to improved cycle times, enhanced visibility and upgraded safety features. The machine's comfortable operator environment and smooth hydraulic control systems help reduce fatigue and support safer, more efficient daily operations.

With approvals to operate 24/7 and weekday hours from 6:00am to 4:00pm, Noosa is a busy plant that plays an important role in supporting local building activity. Reliable mobile equipment like the CAT 938 ensures the team can keep pace with customer demand while maintaining consistent product quality.

Noosa Concrete Plant’s contribution to the region

Located in Noosaville, Boral’s Noosa Concrete Plant supplies premixed concrete to residential, commercial and civil construction projects across the Sunshine Coast. Boral Concrete provides a wide range of mixes designed for durability, strength and project‑specific performance requirements, supporting home builds, infrastructure upgrades and broader urban development in the region.

As part of Boral’s nationwide network of more than 240 premix plants, Noosa plays a key role in delivering reliable concrete supply to one of Queensland’s fastest‑growing coastal areas. The site’s work supports housing growth, industrial development and ongoing council initiatives, providing essential materials that underpin the region’s continued expansion.

Strengthening our future capability

The CAT 938 loader forms part of Boral’s broader heavy mobile equipment renewal program, which aims to improve safety, efficiency and operational resilience across Australia. By investing in modern, high‑performing machinery, Boral ensures teams like Noosa have the tools they need to maintain productivity and deliver exceptional outcomes for customers.

The Noosa team has welcomed the new loader into daily use, with early feedback highlighting improved handling, comfort and reliability. Boral thanks Sonja Gorman for capturing and sharing photos of the new addition to the fleet.
