Set in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, Moy Pocket Quarry plays an important role in supporting transport infrastructure across Queensland.

Recently, Boral welcomed representatives from RoadTek, the commercial delivery arm of the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads, to the quarry for a site visit focused on strengthening collaboration and shared understanding.

RoadTek delivers some of Queensland’s most complex and time‑critical transport projects, making the visit a valuable opportunity to showcase the scale of operations, product quality and technical capability behind Boral’s quarry network.

The visit included a guided tour of Moy Pocket Quarry, allowing RoadTek representatives to see first‑hand how materials are extracted, processed and managed within a unique and environmentally significant setting. This was followed by a series of presentations from Boral teams covering bridge management, technical and quality assurance, quarry operations, and account management.

Ten RoadTek team members attended the visit, representing procurement, site management and finance. Engagement throughout the day was strong, with open discussion and detailed questions reflecting a shared focus on quality, reliability and project delivery.

Feedback from the visit highlighted RoadTek’s appreciation for the professionalism of Boral’s people, the consistency of product quality, and the pride taken in quarry operations. The discussions also identified opportunities for continued engagement and future site visits.

The Moy Pocket Quarry visit reinforced the value of open collaboration between material suppliers and infrastructure delivery partners, supporting stronger outcomes for Queensland’s transport network.
