To help ensure the safe and efficient delivery of recycled materials, Boral has specific delivery requirements that customers must consider when planning site access and unloading locations. These requirements support the safety of Boral drivers, customer site teams and surrounding environments, and help minimise delays or refused deliveries due to unsafe conditions.
Before booking a recycling delivery, it is important that your site is prepared to accommodate heavy vehicles and tipping operations safely.
Why delivery requirements matter
Recycling deliveries involve large vehicles operating on active sites. Factors such as ground conditions, access width, nearby excavations and overhead hazards can significantly increase risk during unloading. Boral drivers are required to assess each delivery location and may refuse to discharge a load if the area is unsafe.
Planning ahead helps:
- Reduce the risk of incidents on site
- Avoid delivery delays or rejected loads
- Support safe working conditions for everyone on site
Customer responsibilities
Customers are responsible for ensuring their site can safely receive a recycling delivery. This includes providing:
- Safe and level ground for tipping
- Clear and suitable access for heavy vehicles
- Adequate space away from hazards such as trenches or power lines
- Facilities to clean wheels or chutes if required to prevent contamination leaving the site
If site conditions change, customers should notify their Boral representative before delivery.
When deliveries may be refused
Boral drivers are instructed not to discharge loads if:
- The tipping area is unsafe or unstable
- There is a risk of vehicle rollover
- The truck cannot safely enter or exit the site
- Contaminants may be dragged onto public roads without cleaning facilities available
