Boral’s continued investment in its quarry fleet has reached another milestone, with two new Cat 772 dump trucks progressing through pre‑delivery inspection ahead of commissioning at West Burleigh Quarry.
The inspection was completed this week in partnership with Hastings Deering and marks an important step before the trucks are delivered to site and brought into service over the coming fortnight. A third Cat 772 from the same delivery batch will also be commissioned at Narangba Quarry, supporting quarry operations across South East Queensland.
The new dump trucks form part of Boral’s wider program of fleet renewal and modernisation, focused on ensuring heavy mobile equipment is well suited to site conditions, operational demand and long‑term reliability. This ongoing investment supports safer, more efficient quarry operations and helps maintain consistent supply to customers.
West Burleigh Quarry plays a key role in supplying construction materials to the Gold Coast and surrounding regions. Operating in a high‑activity market, the site supports major infrastructure, residential and commercial projects, where dependable equipment performance is essential.
The addition of the new Cat 772 dump trucks will increase haulage capacity at West Burleigh, supporting daily production requirements while reducing reliance on older assets. Modern dump truck technology also brings enhancements in operator comfort, safety systems and fuel efficiency, contributing to improved productivity and a safer work environment.
Representatives from Boral and Hastings Deering attended the pre‑delivery inspection, including Craig Peisley, Quarry Supervisor at West Burleigh, Todd Pradella, Boral’s National HME Specialist, and Luke Seaton, Hastings Deering’s Account Manager for quarry, aggregate and paving customers.
Across the business, Boral continues to take a planned, long‑term approach to heavy mobile equipment investment. By progressively renewing key assets and aligning equipment selection with operational needs, the company is supporting improved availability, reduced maintenance risk and safer working conditions across its quarry network.
Once commissioned, the new dump trucks will be fully integrated into production activities at West Burleigh, supporting the ongoing supply of construction materials to customers throughout the region.
