Trust, honesty and relationships underpin long-term success

For Boral’s Victorian Concrete Business Development Manager, Tania Neill, strong customer relationships are at the core of delivering consistent results.

With more than 20 years at Boral, Tania brings a deep understanding of both the business and the construction industry. Starting in the Service Centre, she has progressed through roles in internal sales, account management and key accounts, and now leads concrete business development across Victoria from Boral’s Port Melbourne office.

A focus on partnership

Tania’s approach centres on understanding customers’ needs and building partnerships that create long-term value.

“I love the chase and hunting out new work, interacting with customers, and getting a full picture of their business and how we can partner together.

“There is nothing better than landing a new account, providing a good customer experience and then passing them on to the appropriate team member with the right fit to manage the day-to-day relationship going forward,” she said.

She also highlights the importance of aligning opportunities with the right locations and customer needs to support sustainable growth.

She said, “Targeting the right work, in the right locations, supported by a well-defined go-to-market approach, is critical to sustainable growth.”

Delivering through collaboration

Delivering for customers in the concrete sector requires close coordination across multiple teams.

“There are many moving parts in Concrete, from onboarding, credit, and technical services, to allocations, operations, supply chain and our concrete plants. Every team plays their part. Delivering for our customers requires a timely and coordinated effort,” she said. “I’m proud of how all of our teams come together to achieve strong outcomes.”

This collaborative approach supports reliable supply and consistent service across projects of all sizes.

A values-driven approach

Tania’s work is guided by three key principles:

  • Trust: Do what you say you are going to do
  • Honesty: If something goes wrong, own it and fix it quickly
  • Relationships: Build strong connections beyond day-to-day transactions

These principles underpin how Boral works with customers, supporting consistent service, strong partnerships and dependable project outcomes.

Supporting major projects across Victoria

One example of this approach in action is Boral’s partnership with I&D Group, a provider of formwork solutions in Victoria.

This collaboration supports a range of major projects across Melbourne, including the Melton Hospital, data centres and high-rise developments.

“I’m proud to be part of a partnership that contributes to such significant projects,” she said.

Building something that lasts

For Tania, one of the most rewarding aspects of her work is seeing the tangible impact of the projects she supports.

“I love driving past a building, over a bridge or through a tunnel and being able to say, “We did that job!”
