Accessory
Application
Plasterboard
Joints
Finish all face layer joints and internal angles with a Boral Plasterboard
joint system comprising perforated paper tape and jointing compound.
Stop exposed fasteners on face layers and finish External Corner
Beads and Stopping Angles as required, with at least two coats of
joint compound feathered out from nose of bead to plasterboard face
and sanded smooth.
External
Corner Bead
Reinforce all vertical and horizontal external corners with External
Corner Bead fixed in a bed of Cornice Adhesive to both flanges for
entire length of bead.
Stopping Angles
Where Shaft Wall terminates at control joint or against masonry,
concrete or other dissimilar material, finish with Stopping Angle
over face layer edge, fixed in a bed of Cornice Adhesive to both
flanges for entire length of bead.
Screws
Power drive screws between 10mm and 15mm from edges and ends of
plasterboard sheets. Screw heads are driven just below the plasterboard
surface without damaging face of linerboard.
Note:
Boral Plasterboard Cavity Shaft Walls have been fire tested in
approved systems with a number of proprietary Lift Landing Doors,
Pedestrian Doors and Dampers. When considering the use of any of
these products, please refer to the product manufacturer's specifications
for details of tested designs.
