Boral 19mm Solid Strip Flooring Installation

Installation

Boral 19mm tongue and groove solid strip flooring is designed to be nailed down. Board widths up to 130mm can be secret-nailed into the tongue.

Boral 19mm solid strip flooring has the structural strength to be installed directly onto joists, battens or underply over concrete using secret or top nailing methods.

Timber is a natural (hygroscopic) material. For this reason, solid timber floors may need to be acclimatised to their new local environment before installation. In the home, various conditions such as heaters, air conditioning or direct sunlight can affect the moisture content of the floor.

Boral Timber Flooring recommends that installation is handled by a professional installer. The beauty of Boral 19mm is that it can handle traffic as soon as it is laid, allowing for other trades to finish their jobs before a final sanding and application of the finish. For optimum performance, timber flooring should be installed when the area it is going into has reached its long term equilibrium moisture content. This will help minimise any movement in the boards.
