Boral Community Partnerships

Ross Batstone

Bangarra Dance Theatre

Boral is celebrating ten years of partnership with Bangarra, Australia’s leading indigenous dance company, in 2012. The company blends traditional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history and culture with international contemporary dance and is Boral’s key arts partner.

Conservation Volunteers Australia

This is Boral’s longest standing community partnership and the company has worked with CVA to support conservation projects around Australia since1988. In 2012 a new schools based program will be launched where schools across Australia will be assisted with an environmental project of their choice.

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity

Boral is Habitat for Humanity’s Building Community Resilience program partner. With Habitat, we will help rebuild vulnerable communities prone to natural disasters and help local communities where we operate by sharing our products, technology and expertise with Habitat projects particularly in communities in Asia where Boral operates.

HomeAid

The HomeAid partnership is Boral’s key community initiative in the USA. HomeAid builds and renovates multi-unit homes for America’s temporarily homeless - people who find themselves homeless through a multitude of circumstances and need a second chance to get back on their feet.

Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation

Boral employees and their families participate in JDRF fundraising events such as the Walk to Cure Diabetes, the Spin for a Cure and the Ride to Cure Diabetes and have raised more than $2 million for research into the disease in the past ten years.

Outward Bound Australia

Many Boral employees have taken part in Outward Bound courses via the Boral Family Re-discovery scholarships in recent years. In 2012 we refreshed the program giving it a philanthropic focus and assisted students from high schools in South East NSW to attend a seven day wilderness course.

Redkite

Boral is a proud supporter of Redkite, the Australian cancer charity that provides essential support to children and young people (0-24 years) with cancer, and their families and support networks. Redkite supports families throughout the entire cancer journey providing financial assistance, education and career support, email and telephone counselling and other services.

As a Major Partner of the Financial Assistance Program, Boral enables Redkite to support even more families across Australia through practical assistance for household bills, food, petrol and educational expenses.

Taronga Zoo

Boral is a sponsor of the Taronga Conservation Society Australia, which incorporates Taronga and Western Plains Zoo. The Boral Youth At The Zoo (YATZ) program provides 13-19 year olds with educational opportunities including volunteer work at the Zoos. Boral also sponsors the Backyard to Bush rural precinct and the annual YATZ Eco Fair.

Touched by Olivia

The Touched by Olivia Foundation builds state-of-the-art, all abilities playgrounds where children and parents of all abilities and ages can play side-by-side on the same equipment, ensuring the integration of children and families with special needs.

An all abilities playground is one that, at a minimum, caters for vision, hearing and mobility impairment as well as spectrum disorders.
