Boral is committed to being an equal opportunity employer and we strive to have the best people. As a result, we are increasingly encouraging greater diversity within our workplaces.
>Boral's Values and Policies
Some of the initiatives which show our commitment to EEO and Diversity include:
Employer of Choice for Women
Boral has been successful in obtaining the EOWA Employer of Choice for Women status for 2009. This is the second year Boral has been successful in obtaining Employer of Choice for Women status.
The Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Agency (EOWA) is a Federal Government agency that monitors how employers manage their female workforce. The Employer of Choice for Women status is a formal recognition for organisations with Equal Opportunity programs that recognise and advance female employees.
Boral's formal submission was assessed against defined prerequisites including recruitment and selection, promotion, transfer and termination, training and development, work organisation, conditions of service, arrangements for dealing with sex-based harassment, and arrangements for dealing with pregnancy, potential pregnancy and breastfeeding.
This achievement will enable Boral to continue to brand and position the company in the marketplace as an Employer of Choice for Women using the EOWA logo.
Increasingly Boral has focused on EEO/Diversity issues and will use this Employer of Choice for Women milestone to further develop and build on the solid platform we have within the company. |
