Silkwood - Sustainable Building Solutions

Silkwood Brand Story

Boral Silkwood engineered hardwood timber flooring is available in a wide selection of popular and beautiful Australian hardwood species. The broad portfolio of Boral Silkwood hues offers unique colour and grain variations. A moderate amount of natural feature in the timber boards provides interesting variation and distinctive timber markings.

Boral Silkwood is designed with a quality multi-layer cross-ply construction, providing a stable timber floor with easy installation over many surfaces. The entire Boral Silkwood range is made in Australia, from Australian hardwood species for Australian conditions by an Australian company, Boral Timber.

Boral Timber's engineered flooring range Boral Silkwood is available in two widths - 133mm and 175mm. The wide boards of the Boral Silkwood range are designed to deliver a greater sense of space for today's popular open plan living areas.

As well as delivering on aesthetics, one of the major attractions of Boral's Silkwood range is that it is supplied pre-finished with six layers of mid gloss UV cured acrylic scratch resistant coating, so that the mess of sanding and finishing can be avoided. This also means that the floor can be walked on within hours of installation.
Easy to install, Boral Silkwood can be glued or 'floated' over any level, structurally sound subfloor such as concrete slabs, particleboard, plywood, or existing tiles and timber. Boral Silkwood is extremely durable and can be sanded and refinished like solid timber floors, restoring it to its original condition and making it a long term investment.

Boral Silkwood can also be fitted with a Boral acoustic underlay, particularly beneficial for apartments, keeping noise from foot traffic to a minimum and helping to keep the neighbours on side.

The Boral Silkwood range is backed by a 25 year residential structural
and surface warranty.

Boral Silkwood is highly durable and easy to maintain making it ideal for
asthmatics and allergy sufferers as it does not harbour dust or allergens.
